About CfE Maths Hub

About CfE Maths Hub

A Scottish maths learning platform built around CfE levels, SQA pathways, pupil practice, learning support and teacher workload.

CfE Maths Hub was created by a Scottish teacher with experience across primary and secondary mathematics, alongside work supporting learners with additional support needs (ASN). The aim is to make Scottish CfE maths practice clearer, more supportive and easier to connect to useful next steps.

The platform supports teacher judgement rather than replacing it. It gives pupils structured practice and gives teachers, parents and carers clearer evidence to discuss, interpret and act on alongside classroom observation, professional judgement and school processes.

Built for Scottish education

Scottish CfE maths, Experiences and Outcomes and SQA maths pathways.

CfE Maths Hub is designed around Curriculum for Excellence maths and numeracy, from supported early numeracy through National courses, Applications of Mathematics, National 5 Maths, Higher Maths and Higher Applications routes where available on the site.

It is not an official SQA, Education Scotland or council product. It is an independent teacher-created platform that uses Scottish education language and course pathways carefully.

National 1 Numeracy and National 2 Lifeskills Mathematics
National 3, National 4 and National 5 Applications of Mathematics

Made by a teacher

Created from classroom experience, not generic worksheet content.

The site is being built from a teacher perspective, with attention to clear practice, supportive feedback, diagnostic evidence, teacher workload and classroom usability. It is designed for pupils who need more structure and confidence as well as pupils preparing for SQA-style assessments.

That means the platform favours practical Scottish maths pathways, repeated practice with variation, clear next steps and resources teachers can use without having to start from a blank page.

What it helps with

Practice, evidence and support in one place.

Pupil practice with feedback

Structured questions, hints and feedback help pupils revisit skills and build confidence without unnecessary pressure.

Diagnostics and readiness checks

Starting-point checks and readiness tools give useful evidence for next steps, gaps and targeted practice.

Learning Support settings

Reduced-text options, visual support and step-by-step routes are included where they help pupils access the maths.

Dyslexia and dyscalculia support indicators

Screeners provide support indicators and suggested supports. They are not diagnoses or clinical assessments.

Teacher resources and homework

Focused worksheet and homework builders let teachers choose a course, topic, support level and question count, then print matching answers.

Progress evidence

Where accounts and classes are used, progress information can help teachers spot common gaps and plan follow-up.

ASN-friendly maths practice

Supported pathways use visual, practical and carefully worded tasks for learners who benefit from structure.

Scottish course language

The platform uses CfE, Experiences and Outcomes, Applications of Mathematics, National courses and Higher pathways naturally.

Learning Support and ASN-friendly design

Designed to reduce barriers where possible.

CfE Maths Hub includes learning support features intended to help pupils access maths with less friction. These supports are practical, classroom-facing tools rather than labels.

visual supports and practical representations

step-by-step practice and carefully paced feedback

reduced-text and reading-comfort options where available

dyslexia support and dyscalculia support choices

accessible layouts that work on mobile and desktop

UK money visuals where money contexts are used

Supporting teachers, not replacing them

Professional judgement stays central.

CfE Maths Hub can help teachers gather evidence, assign practice, spot common gaps and provide targeted follow-up.

Auto-marking, diagnostics and progress summaries are there to reduce workload where appropriate, not to replace teacher interpretation.

The tools should sit alongside professional judgement, classroom observation, discussion with pupils and school support processes.

Privacy and school safety

Built with school use and pupil privacy in mind.

Class tools and account features are designed around teacher-controlled access and careful use of pupil progress information. CfE Maths Hub avoids public pupil profiles, advertising profiles and unnecessary data collection.

For plain-English information about pupil data, accounts and class tools, read the Privacy & School Safety page.
